Brethren, it is flat COLD out there.
Today I saw something I’ve never seen before in my life: the wind had rolled its own snowballs.
They call em snow rollers. I hear they’re all over facebook in my town, and an Ohio article today featured some cool pictures.
I feel really honored that the wind thought of making “rare meteorological phenomena” in my backyard.
I don’t get how they could turn on their sides (as above) without breaking. They’re not packed hard. The minute I touched one, it crumbled to powder.
I know what I’m thinking. Stir fry and homemade dinner rolls.
How are you staying warm, safe, and busy? Any tips, recipes, or topics of general disinterest?
Tomorrow I’ll give you a question to hash, in my usual manner—and after that some psycho ideas to blast you out of orbit (er, maybe not)—and after that a disclaimer that says I really don’t know what I am talking about. That’s how we do it around here.
Adios! Hot drinks all around.
Shari
That’s so neat!! I’ve never seen anything like that ~ I’m glad you shared so in case someone talks about them I’ll sound educated. LOL
A 6 week on line meal plan to beat the winter blahs: I’m loving it…..recipes, check, shopping lists, check, calendar, check.
Also, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s post – I love questions without answers more than I should. 🙂
is this an emeals site? been thinking of getting this for a couple of daughters-in-law! I even think it would be great for someone that only has two to cook for…I’m getting kinda tired of cold cereal! (although it’s much faster than any other meal)
How interesting! Your yard looks like Frosty needs to do a better job of picking up after his snowdog.
This is amazing, Shari, never heard of it, nor seen anything like it, but maybe God knew it’s just too cold for us humans to be out there rolling them, so did a few of His own, to show us it can be done!! Wish I had some in my backyard, so I could show my friends. Guess I’ll share it on my FB page!
My children and I were intrigued by these snow rollers. Never seen the likes! Here in Ontario we are enjoying the plentiful snow; and if it’s flat out COLD there, what is it here…at -27 degrees C? 🙂 And I love our huge banks along the road. On the road today I saw one that had the whole sign-post buried with only the sign visible. Good old-fashioned winter!
