My books

I rejoiced and agonized my way through writing two books: one non-fiction for women and one illustrated-fiction for children.

1. Peanut Butter and Dragon Wings: A Mother’s Search for Grace

(MennoMedia, 2021)

My first book holds the story of my faith and motherhood so far and my losses, failures, and inadequacies along the way. It talks pretty honestly about my steep climb in learning to be uncomfortable and cracked open and in need of grace. (Took me far too long to learn that those things are allowed.) You can read more information about the book here.

Each of the twelve chapters in PB&DW shares one surprisingly uncomfortable way to reach for grace. I’ve also created writing space for you to reflect on your own life, considering the feelings and experiences that motivate you, and the resources that surround you with mercy.

You can buy a copy on Amazon.

2. Bubby and the Changing Place

(2023)

My second book was created in collaboration with the talented Lana Kuhns, illustrator and friend. It tells the story of a child in foster care, who is trying to find his way to unconditional love. Who will love him for who he is? And what if who he is keeps changing?

Bubby is available online from Christian Learning Resource, or from me if you live locally, or from a Christian bookstore near you.
