My little girl just turned four years old. This sends cold shivers through me. I wonder if itβs the beginning of the end, and if we will ever again be as close as we are now, and what I should be teaching her about femininity that I havenβt learned yet myself.
So because I do not know how to raise a teenager, in the meantime I bake cupcakes for a little girl. {And after the guests have gone, I sit beside her in the darkness and sing.}
This was one of the most fun cake ideas Iβve played with. I will say this once, loud and clear: ITβS NOT MY IDEA. As far as I can tell, high-heeled shoe cupcakes originated at Grandmaβs Bakery. This site supplied additional ideas. I copied shamelessly.
The sole is a Milano cookie, and the heel a Pirouette. They are sturdier than they look⦠The only one that collapsed on me did so under the weight of another cupcake, which I dropped right on top of it. So. Not that it had a lot of choice in the matter. You can even move them (carefully) to a plate.
I enjoyed the endless options for color and design, everything from girly to suave. I think theyβd be fun at a ladiesβ tea or a bridal shower. What style is “you”?
These are darling! You did an amazing job on them! I like the pink with black buttons best, but the creativity of the open toe shoes impresses me the most. π
How adorably brilliant! I love decorating, but I find I’m better at executing other people’s inspiration than developing my own.
I’m totally with you on the child vs. teenager apprehension! Trying to keep in mind that teenagers don’t just sprout like mushrooms but develop from children, and that who I am to them NOW is everything and directly leads to the relationship I have with them then. From what I can deduce from the little I see of your life on this blog, I think you’re well on your way to having happy teenagers who love you. π
So-o-o adorable! Perfect for little princesses. The lacy pink and white grabbed my eyes.
You did a great job on the shoes and I’m thinking you’re doing just as great a job on the “mothering into the grownup years” as well! May the relationship between the two of you deepen as the years go by!
BTW, I like the little white with black chevron stripes and red buttons! Just such cuteness!
Thanks, Mama, for the lead on the link!! Kelly was soooo tickled.
These are simply adorable!!!! You have talent, patience, and time!; ). I enjoy making birthday cakes but if these were being served, i would love to be a guest .
Amazing, absolutely adorable. I liked the yellow with white dots. I wish I was your 4 year old daughter! Too bad I can’t grow up again! π
Love the cupcakes… I’m preparing for star wars cupcakes this weekend for my almost four year old. π
I love it! I’ll take one of each π π Tucking this idea away for some little girlies at my house!
Btw, the birthday girl is just as cute as the heels!! π
So adorable! I know–everyone else is saying it, but not sure how else to say it–both the cupcakes and the little girlie!!!
Aw, thanks ladies!
As long as you keep copying shamelessly from other blogs, I’ll keep copying shamelessly from yours! My girls would LOVE these cupcakes. I’m especially fond of the pink ones with the little black buttons.
