Confession: Iām tired. And lazy.
These days I would cheerfully sell all I have and give to the poor, whether or not I gained treasure in heaven. All I ask of life is lots of sleep and a leisurely cup of coffee when I awake.
But what a lovely week I had! Highlights:
- Seeing Jean healthier and happier than I ever imagined.
- Just hanging out with my beautiful sister and daughterātalking, laughing, trying on hats, working, playing, getting comfy with Jeanās home turf.
- Enjoying lunch together at Potbelly, half old country and half hip bistro, with a live guitarist, warm melting-cheese-and-mushroom sandwiches, and the best chocolate milkshake Iāve ever had in my life.
- Shoppingāwith beautiful finds, and Kelly trying on schmantzy shoes
- Six hours of driving time, twice. Two things that made it sweet:
- Borrowed books and toys, new to Kelly. She could not have done better!
- Audio books and headphones while she slept. I listened to The Hobbit, half on the way down and half coming back up.
- Coming home…!
Yay!!! I have been waiting for a ‘home again’ update from you! š š I caught a fleeting glance of you last night and I was sad that we didn’t get a chance to exchange even a few words. I think maybe I could give you some competition on the whole tiredness issue.
Whoooaaa!!! It’s good to be reading your blog again! Glad your trip went so well, glad for your good times with Jean, glad your home again.
I am so glad that you had a good trip! I was going to comment on your last post, but was afraid I would beg and plead to meet up and see you somewhere. I wanted you to just enjoy time with Jean, but some day soon I do hope we have a meet-up. š
Sleep and a cup of coffee; I can relate to that.
Aaauuughgh! You should have said something, you lovely unselfish lady. I canNOT get used to you living in Virginia. I always think of you when I drive through the Breezewoodish/McConnellsburg area, but never thought I’d be close to you in VA. Let’s do this sometime!
Oh Shari, I’ve been spying on you for the past few weeks after i found your blog thro Jean’s blog…it’s good to “see you” again…if you know what I mean.
So glad you had a safe trip AND I am so happy you got to share time with Jean that way. One of the girls from our church has the exact type of cancer and is just finishing up her treatments. Also my best friend in Oh is battling breast cancer…so in a sense I can feel thro you on this. And I know how special times are with dear one like this. Blessings
