Moving on

This is me writing yesterday.

This is me writing today.

Thanks to all who shared thoughtful and gracious comments (both of approval and disapproval), and thanks to everyone else as well. I would just call to mind two things that I say in my blogging purpose statement; they seem to fit.

“I make a continual and deliberate effort to reveal the fact that I am a common woman who thinks that both dungeons and pedestals are restricting, and all humans need real faces.”

Which being interpreted is, I am human and permitted to say what I think, including the occasional really dumb thing for which I may pay through the teeth. (And believe me, I have.) You are allowed to speak your mind as well, and you do not have to agree with me or approve of me.

“I am here to encourage you, to humor you, and once in a while to infuriate you—”

—and I do the latter as infrequently as possible.

We go on.

Coming up soon we have

Rumpelstiltskin Reloaded —no, I did not forget
and A Christmas Hymnsing

No sensibilities should be harmed in the making of these blog posts.

Shari

Awww… I hope we weren’t too hard on you! I love that you are so real. And you are a very courageous woman to blog in such a real way – I am too whimpy… I take negative responses personally… 🙁 You are a brave woman and I honor you for that! 🙂

The fire gear looks safe. And it makes me laugh.
I too find the honesty in your blog very refreshing. The world needs more people who are willing to be real. Looking forward to reading more popcorn posts!

That’s just what I was thinking!

The suit is hilarious! May I borrow it when someone takes on the “iron sharpening iron” deal on me??

Aren’t you glad that our acceptance is not hung on what other people think? Just you keep on!

I admire the way you move on with grace, without skipping a beat, in spite of the flak you took in the last 24 hours. I agreed with and appreciated yesterday’s post; it summed up what I’ve felt for years but could never quite put into words.

And the pictures make me grin. Way to go!

I hugely admire your ability to be fearless, honest, and gracious all in one. It’s what I am growing for, so help me Lord! 😉

Oh Shari. Thanks for the giggle. And thanks for keeping on putting yourself out there even when you get flak for it. I’m cheering for you.

Love the humor here… and the transparency! I’ve come to realize transparency is one of my life values. Sometimes I’ve cringed at others’ honesty, and I KNOW others have cringed because of mine, but in general… we should all be like that a little more! I honor you because of it in your blog and from you in person. Keep on sis!

Ha! Great stuff.

You know, when I first read the previous post, I wondered if the whole lot of us should head for the bomb shelter—readers, commenters, writer, everybody. 🙂
