The crowing of a chicken

My chicken:

“I am such a smart bird, I am.

Not like those birds I live with,

the fat ones all feathers and no brains.

I have found a very clever hiding spot

away from the coop.

It is dry and nesty and warm.

“Look at me hiding here,

such a smart bird I am.

Tiger will not tell. And none of the Zooks

will ever find me.

Shhhh.

Clever, bounteous, brainy me!”

Also my chicken:

“And now

in this ultra secret hiding place

I am going to announce

very, very loudly

that I just

…laid an egg.”
