We interrupt this hiatus for a little marketing-on-request. I promise, if the Lord is willing: My next post will be personal and chatty.
I have a new planner to introduce to you today!
Sarah Wagner is a mother with a fertile and vivid mind, judging by the combination of art, poetry, and practicality that is encapsulated in her new Mama’s Plan Book with Poetry. Her goal is both to offer her work and to create a happy space for yours.

Designed as journal-planner combination, each day has 18 lines of space, plus a woodgrain-and-roses sidebar: offering lots of room for writing. For me, the larger space looks perfect for accommodating the endless appointments and tasks for my large family, and the sidebar with roses looks like a poetic place to play. For Sarah, it’s the opposite. She likes the larger room for allll the daily journaling, and uses the smaller block for her weekday tasks and lists.

But that’s the point.
This is a prolifically customizable planner, crafted without distracting titles for What One Must Write Where, just acres of lined and adaptable space. For instance, the perforated section in the front of the book is as useful for notes to friends as it is for grocery lists; so there are no headings, just nicely ruled detachable sections.

But remember this isn’t just a planner. It’s a showcase of various artistic pieces. The featured artwork is a combination of pieces hand-drawn by Sarah and photographs taken by her and by her cousin Mary Susan, featuring their children. Plus, there are beautiful tidbits of original poetry interspersed into each week throughout the planner—again, Sarah’s creations.

Dandelion
“Our property is studded thick with gold,
More frothy treasures than small hands can hold –
A million sunbursts in a sea-green sky.
They change their color. Look! They burst! They fly!”
I think my favorite piece is this one, regarding babies.

“All babies are sweet
This whole world over,
But this one is like
A four-leaf clover –
Far cuter! More darling
Than any other!
You won’t understand
Unless you’re his mother.”
Here are a few more practical aspects of Mama’s Plan Book that I like. There are bulgy and sturdy pockets in both front and back. Since they are caught in the spiral binding, they can safely hold a surprising amount of notes, photos, appointment cards, school handouts, and more. Monthly tab dividers make the planner easy to navigate. Each Sunday boasts a whole page of its own, which includes that weekly dash of original poetry as well as a “this week” planning bar. An elastic band holds it all together, or doubles as a bookmark to keep your spot in the year. And the overall moderate size, 6×9,” is very practical for tucking into a purse.

At the back of the planner are tabs dividing extra page sections, but again, left blank so you can shape them to your own interests. You could use them for longterm goals, easy-to-find lists, event planning, garden records, contact information, gift ideas, and hey—first drafts. You never know when the need to write will strike. There’s also an open graph section included here, which would be handy for scoresheets, cleaning charts, and clothing sizes.

and all the times strangers are kind to me in town (many)…

This planner is for women who love to write, for those who jot impromptu lines in the margins, for those who are dreamers and makers and crafters, and for those who love to celebrate each day with journaled thoughts. Gift one to your artistic or word-loving friend, or try it for yourself and see how you like it.
I was given a free copy of Mama’s Plan Book with Poetry 2026 in exchange for my honest review. No one is forcing me to write this, and I am making no money from it. (Thanks for checking.) I hope you enjoy.
